Adra to the Eisteddfod

Adra, the largest housing association in north Wales, is putting last minute arrangements in place for its stall at the Llŷn and Eifionydd National Eisteddfod in Boduan.

With less than a month to go until the Eisteddfod, preparations are in full swing, with many events taking place during the week, with a different theme every day.

The theme of Adra’s stall at the start of the festival is Adra’s communities. On Tuesday Adra will celebrate various partnerships, there will be a Women in Social Housing event on Wednesday, and the end of the week will focus on recruitment.

Saturday, August 5, Adra will hold a panel session in the Societies Tent at 2.30pm. The theme of the session will be ‘Ensuring Thriving Communities – Together’. The speakers will be Iwan Trefor Jones, Chief Executive of Adra; Siân Gwenllian MP; Bethan Williams, Chief Officer of Mantell Gwynedd; Dafydd Gruffydd, Managing Director of Menter Môn and Councillor Craig ab Iago.

On Tuesday, August 8, Adra will organise a celebration for partnerships and launch its Social Value Report at 10am.

On Wednesday, Adra will hold a meeting of Women in Social Housing at 10am. This will be a panel session with Sasha Davies, vice-Chair of the Adra’s Board; Sarah Schofield, Adra’s Director of Communities and Customers; Emma Williams from North Wales Housing Association, Elliw Llŷr from Isle of Anglesey County Council, Fflur Jones from Darwin Gray company and Alwen Williams from the North Wales Ambition Board.

In addition, there will be activities for children of all ages in the Adra stall throughout the week, including arts and crafts, face painting, clog dancing with Tudur Philips, Iogis Bach, games, Dwylo Bach and Bucket Band sessions.

Iwan Trefor Jones, Chief Executive of Adra said; “It’s great to have the Eisteddfod on our doorstep this year in Boduan, it’s an opportunity for us to showcase our work across the communities within the area and beyond.

“It will be an opportunity for us to celebrate our key partnerships, and thank everyone who has supported us and worked with us over the years, as well promote the opportunities available to women within fields that traditionally have far more men in the jobs than women.”
