Adra launches campaign alongside Gas Safety Week
Adra, North Wales’ largest housing association, in support of Gas Safety Week (11-17 September, 2023) are launching a new campaign to raise awareness around the importance of annual boiler servicing.
This Gas Safety Week focuses on the breadth and diversity of skills, experiences and people who play an essential role in keeping the UK gas safe, as well as reminding consumers on gas safety and how to ensure they stay safe.
Gas appliances that have not properly been maintained can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. Carbon monoxide is known as the ‘silent killer’ because you can’t see, smell or taste it. Therefore, it is highly important to have gas appliances checked and serviced by an engineer who is listed on the Gas Safe Register.
Howyn Roberts, Adra’s Senior Operations Manager said: “Tenants safety is our number one priority, it’s very important that we are allowed access to our properties to carry out annual boiler servicing and gas safety checks.
“Not only it’s a legal requirement for us as a landlord to ensure all the boilers in our properties are serviced annually, but it’s to ensure the safety of our tenants.
“Annual servicing also ensures that the boiler operates as smoothly and efficient as possible, which in turn reduces the cost of heating a home. It can also help identify and rectify any minor issues, which can prevent future breakdowns.”
