Sustainability report hot off the press

We have published our latest sustainability report which highlights our performance against environmental, social and governance measures set by Sustainability for Housing.

This report is the fourth of its kind and we were one of the first housing associations in Wales to adopt the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing in November 2020.

The report includes information about a wide range of issues, including affordability and safety of homes, building safety and quality, how we support tenants, deal with climate change, how we deal with climate change and reducing our carbon emissions and promoting the supply chain.

The report also highlight partnership projects going on to support communities, including Prosiect Sero Net Gwynedd and Tŷ Gwyrddfai, the decarbonisation hub in Penygroes – the first of its kind in the UK. Tŷ Gwyrddfai is a partnership between us, Bangor University and Grŵp Llandrillo Menai through the Centre for Infrastructure, Skills and Technology.

Rhys Parry, our Director of Resources, said: “We take our environmental, social and governance responsibilities very seriously and we want to make sure that we can report  on our performance in a transparent, consistent and comparable way.”

“Our 2022/25 Corporate Plan highlights the commitment to reducing the impact that we have on the environment, with one of our main priorities being the decarbonisation of our homes. This has been supported by efforts to minimise our carbon footprint by seeking alternative delivery models, embracing innovation, and truly demonstrating our green appetite”.

“Having a long term, sustainable and positive impact on communities and the people who live in them has always been a priority for us. With over 7,100 properties providing a home that is suitable, safe, and affordable for over 16,000 people, we are in a prominent position to be able to have a positive impact and lifelong influence on the lives and wellbeing of our tenants.

“Whilst this report allows us to demonstrate to a wider audience of stakeholders and investors the true extent of our social impact and benefits to the wider environment, we also try to show how our activity places our customers at the centre of everything we do”.
