Shortlisted for social value accolades

We’re celebrating being shortlisted for two honours at a prestigious industry award ceremony.

The Social Value Awards are national awards that recognise and promote businesses that emphasise social value as part of their day-to-day work. Our team  has been shortlisted in the Private Sector Leadership and Accountability and Recordkeeping categories.

During 2023/24 we achieved a social value of £9,582,635 which benefitted communities across north Wales.

Our recent social value report highlighted some of the key achievements around social value:

  • 94% of our Welsh suppliers are based in north Wales
  • £55 million spent with north Wales contractors
  • 370 local people employed by us
  • 231 individuals supported into employment or training with us or its contractors

The report also outlines our commitments to providing financial support and guidance to tenants, supported housing, dealing with anti-social behaviour,  decarbonisation and the environment, investing in current homes and new developments, the Welsh language and partnership working.

Llinos Bracegirdle, our Social Value Co-ordinator, said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in two categories at these national awards and it reflects all the great work that goes on across the business to maximise the opportunities for social value.

” I’d like to pay tribute to the commitment of all our staff, partners and contractors in creating opportunities for our tenants and our communities to thrive”.

Rhys Parry, our Director of Resources, said: “We want to have a positive impact on people’s lives, as well as the wider community.  That commitment has been reflected in our Corporate Plan which focusses on building quality homes that people can be proud of; support communities and people to thrive; decarbonising our homes; improving the customer experience and strengthening the business.

“We want to provide opportunities for people to access quality jobs and training; we want to make sure that the contractors that we employ provide added benefits through investment and initiatives in our community and we want to continue to play our part in regenerating the local economy”.

The winners will be announced at the awards in Birmingham on October 17.
