Coming together to make sure children receive a Christmas gift
We and a door company and Gorwel have teamed up to make sure children of families who are facing challenging times have toys to play with over Christmas.
Each year, Bamford Doors runs a toy appeal scheme where each staff member buys one new gift each to donate to the company’s Christmas gift collection and then select a partner organisation to donate to. Bamford and their key partners such as CAME and Baydale Control systems donated and chose us this year as a partner. We have decided to work with our partner, Gorwel to donate the gifts to children of families in need. Gorwel provides a range of support services for older people, people affected by domestic abuse and homelessness
The purpose is to give children within families that are facing challenging circumstances, a Christmas gift. Gorwel supports many of our customers and tenants who are facing domestic violence or at risk of homelessness.
Elin Williams, our Partnerships and Communities Manager, said:
“Adra is eager to benefit our communities through our work, and thanks to our partners Bamford Doors for their generosity this year. The gifts will go towards supporting families in our communities during what can be a very difficult time for many. We have chosen to donate the gifts to Gorwel, a partner we work closely with to support our tenants.”
Katie Jones from Gorwel said:
“We have received Christmas presents to give to children through Bamford Doors and Adra and we really appreciate these gifts.
“We work with families in need of shelter and support families in their communities. These gifts for the children will give them pleasure during difficult times. Thank you. ”
Alexis Smith, Managing Director of Bamford Doors, said:
“This is an initiative we are proud to participate in every year and this year we have chosen Adra as a housing association in Wales, we have now dropped the toys and hope that the children in the area in need will enjoy them.”
