Daniel sits on Housing Futures Cymru Panel
On Wednesday Daniel Campbell, one of our Rent and Income Officers, was part of the Chartered Institute of Housing’s Housing Futures Cymru panel alongside Jane Bryant, MS, Cabinet Secretary for Housing.
Daniel was chosen to join the Panel after sharing his ideas on what Welsh Government should do about the housing crisis.
Daniel said: “I’ve always had an interest in housing policies, and since I’ve been working at Adra as a Rent Officer I’ve found first hand the effect this sort of job can have on a community.
“In my interview I pointed out that 4000 single people were homeless in Wales, while, as of March 2023, only 263 ‘one-bed’ properties were available.
“In my opinion one of Welsh Governments main objectives should be to invest more in ‘one-bed’ supported housing and support services for homeless single people, because even though there’s been some improvement, the current supply is not meeting demand”.
“I enjoyed my first ever TAI conference. It was a great experience and refreshing to see many RSL’s come together and share ideas on how to tackle the problems facing the sector from WHQS, rent policy, homelessness and funding.”
