Investing in our social housing in Bangor
We have started investment work on our homes on the Caernarfon Road estate of flats, Bangor as well as Cilcoed, Penywern, Coedmawr, and will start on Hendre Road in Bangor too in order to improve the energy efficiency and standard of the homes.
The work includes:
- put a new roof on the houses
- insulation and rendering of external walls
- install new windows
- install new gutters
- improving paths and fences and more.
Mathew Gosset, Assistant Director of Assets here at Adra, said:
“We understand how important our customers’ homes are. We also understand how important it is that we continue to invest and spend on the houses we have as well as build new quality houses to meet the local housing need.
“One way we address this is by carrying out external improvement work on the houses and carrying out work in different areas in Gwynedd, such as the ones we are currently working on in Bangor. We have also carried out work in Llanberis, Garndolbenmaen and we will be going to a number of other areas.
“Keeping the pound local, contributing to the local economy is important to us. This is why we work with local contractors who also give back to our community through our social value scheme and we are proud to have appointed Novus and G H James as our main contractors on the various sites.”
“It is a significant amount of work on a home and completing work like this takes time. But Adra sees investing money and time to do this work as one of their main priorities.
“With energy prices increasing and the cost of living so high Adra sees the pressure on everyone including their customers and therefore understands the importance of making their customers’ homes as efficient as possible”.
