The Role

Overview

A unique opportunity to join an expanding housing association in a new role designed to providethe successful candidate with the skills, knowledge, and qualifications to enable them to develop into a competent team member within the Asset Management team within the Property
Directorate.

Working under the Asset and Investment Manager to assist in achieving key objectives that comeunder the team’s responsibility. In summary, the Graduate Asset Officer will gain experience in the following;
• To work with the Asset management team in the delivery of Adra’s ambitious Asset Management Strategy, ensuring investment is targeted to maximise the value and efficiency of Adra’s stock, including delivery against decarbonisation targets.
• To contribute into the development of the Major Improvement Programme, working closely with the Data officers to ensure that the Programme is designed and delivered to maintain quality homes whilst maximising component lifecycles and achieving programme
budget; keeping under review the compliance of the housing stock against the Welsh Housing Quality Standard.
• To identify stock for Option Appraisal and work on the Option Appraisal process to providerecommendations to Adra’s “Active Asset Management Group” in respect of actions to maximise the efficiency and quality of the Association’s stock including stock disposal.
• To manage and maintain the process of collating and updating asset related data held onour data management software systems – including carrying out Whole Home Surveys/Stock Condition Surveys/Domestic Energy Certificates.
• Work in conjunction with the Development team on the transfer of data on newly built/acquired properties in order to ensure that Asset data is maintained and current.

The successful candidate will be developed and mentored for a period of 24 months in a trainee
role within the various workstreams noted above with a view to progressing into a full-time role
within the department, based on performance and successful completion of the required training.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Degree in Building, Building works or a similar discipline. E
HNC Level OR previous experience in Building / Construction, Environmental
Health / H&S or similar discipline.

Health and Safety related qualification related (NEBOSH, IOSH). D

Skills

A flexible and proactive individual who’s passionate about developing new skills. E
Good standards of IT skills including MS office word, excel etc. E
Willingness to work outside of normal office hours when required. E
Ability to deal with members of the public, local members, and other professionals. E
Good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate effectively at all
levels.

Has the ability to work to a high standard with attention to detail without constant
supervision
Have a driving licence or plan to obtain one shortly after starting work. E
The ability to communicate (speaking and writing) fluently in both Welsh/English. E
