New lease of life for old tools
Four initiatives in Gwynedd are benefitting from a scheme to recycle our old equipment
A few months ago our Tîm Cymunedol were approached by Trwsio colleagues who were keen to do something with all the tools that had accumulated over the years that weren’t used anymore.
Tîm Cymunedol were in contact with Menter Môn and already working with them on their Circular Economy Project, into which this fit perfectly!
They identified four groups that would be very happy to receive them: Partneriaeth Ogwen in Bethesda, Yr Orsaf in Penygroes, Seren in Ffestiniog and Antur Waunfawr.
Partneriaeth Ogwen and Yr Orsaf will be offering them in their ‘Library of Things’, where the tools will be available for hire to anyone in the community, sparing them from having to buy the tools themselves. Seren and Antur Waunfawr will be using them in their own workshops.
Llinos Bracegirdle, our Social Value Coordinator said: “I’m very proud that we have been able to give this huge donation of tools back into our communities and support our social enterprises.
“This project will support local tool libraries, allowing individuals to take advantage of hiring these tools, but also contribute to the circular economy by giving these tools a new lease of life.”
