Storm Éowyn: Strong winds and heavy rain forecast
We are expecting strong winds and heavy rain over the next few days as a result of Storm Éowyn, which is likely to bring disruption to parts of north Wales.
It is important that you stay safe during the storm, here are a few tips to stay safe and help prepare for the adverse weather:
Inside:
- Prepare a power cut kit. This includes a torch, radio, matches, candles and a list of useful numbers
- Close all external doors and windows
- Do you have enough electric and gas in your meter if you can’t go out due to the bad weather?
- Have a few non-perishable items in your cupboard in case you can’t make it out of the house such as tinned food and UHT milk
- Try to stay inside as much as possible. If you need to go out, be careful around buildings and trees
Outside:
- Secure loose objects such as trampolines, bins and garden furniture
- If you’re driving, slow down and keep a safe distance from other vehicles.
- Take a visual check on your roof tiles. Are there any lose or cracked ones that need replacing? If you see any issues, report them via our Contact Centre on 0300 123 8084
Our Call Centre will be open until 5pm today (Friday 24/01/25).
If you have an emergency outside of these hours or over the weekend, phone our out of hours team on 0300 123 8084.
Please note that due to severe weather, our response times might be slower than usual.
We kindly ask you to be mindful of vulnerable neighbours during this time.
Stay safe and take care.
