We’ve been shortlisted!
We have been shortlisted for one of the honours in this year’s Northern Housing Awards.
We have made the final in the Best Approach to Decarbonisation category.
Our application included a summary of our work around sustainability and decarbonisation, with a special emphasis on the work going on at Tŷ Gwyrddfai in Penygroes, in partnership with Bangor University and Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and the Centre for Infrastructure, Skills and Technology (CIST). It also reflected the close links with supporting the local economy, creating stronger supply chains, providing training opportunities for the current and future workforce and innovation in the decarbonisation programme.
We’ve also focused in our application how our decarbonisation and sustainability work links in with other parts of the business, including the work going on to support tenants and the wider communities through our work around fuel poverty and making our homes as energy efficient as possible.
Sion Hughes, our Director of Policy and Delivery said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted. It’s a great honour for us at Adra to see our work being recognised by industry experts. We are proud of the work that has already been carried out and the close partnership links we have with Bangor University, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and CIST, to name but a few.
“Ty Gwyrddfai is the first decarbonisation hub of its kind in the UK and there has already been a significant amount of interest in the development and the vision for it to be a centre of excellence for innovation.
“We will continue, as an organisation to place sustainability at the heart of everything that we do, through creating sustainable homes that meet the health and well-being needs of our tenants, as well as ensuring that our properties meet stringent energy targets”.
The award winners will be announced in late May.
